Behavior in Three Directions
Aug. 13, 2013 Home Alone 2 Gallery (New York, NY)

Part of the performance series August, curated by Breathing Works (Dana Dart-McClean and Christopher Garrett).

The performer picks three directions of focus: up and to the right, down and back into herself, up and forward. She allows her body to respond to the emotional meaning of each direction in varying degrees--from a subtle turn of the head, to an exaggerated emotional outburst, a tantrum, tears, elegant poise, a song and dance, a prayer, and everything in between. This piece is an exploration of the nebulous boundary between “real” and self-generated emotions.
